Michael Morales
Michael Morales is an aspiring marketer on the tail-end of a bachelor’s degree in Marketing and Management Information Systems. Michael’s background in marketing stems from his sales position as a wine and craft beer consultant which revolved around understanding the rich story-crafting behind a beer or wine’s journey from the barrel to the bottle. With more than ten years of performance experience as an acoustic singer-songwriter, Michael’s passion for developing and uncovering thoughtful and inspirational stories has only begun to unfold.
Chicago-native, born and raised in the Humboldt park neighborhood, Michael Morales has had a deep connection with the way the City of Chicago and its surrounding areas age and grow. His mother, Irma Morales, had been a large part in helping their surrounding community understand outside forces leading up to the housing crisis of 2008 and has since been his role model for community development and outreach.
With a devotion to local communities and the arts, Michael aims to help create easily accessible, self-reflective, and self-sustaining platforms for artists, small businesses, and their neighborhoods. Michael currently resides in the Beverly neighborhood, where he sees opportunities to use new technology in telling the stories of underrepresented artists, businesses, and institutions to spark innovation and interest in Chicago’s south side area.
