LISTEN.

At Unity Village, we aim for both social and musical harmony. Listen to the sounds of togetherness!

Chicago Youth Symphony Orchestras

The Chicago Youth Symphony Orchestras provides music education for nearly 600 young Chicagoans between the ages of 6 and 18. Their program includes four full orchestras, three string orchestras, and a jazz orchestra, which allow these emerging musicians to obtain a varied and impressive music education from prestigious performers. A crucial part of CYSO’s mission is to ensure that its students use their training in music to excel in all areas of life.

Chicago Mariachi Project

The mission of the national award winning Chicago Mariachi Project is to elevate the Art of Mariachi and promote excellence in musicianship through education, coordination and support.

Merit School of Music

The Merit School of Music is devoted to providing its students with the tools necessary to not only become better musicians, but better leaders, citizens, and people. Merit’s most gifted young musicians train through the Alice S. Pfaelzer Tuition-free Conservatory and perform together weekly for Live from Gottlieb, a concert series showcasing the talents of renowned musicians from Chicago and beyond.

The People’s Music School

Since 1976, this free school has been dedicated to offering young metropolitan students the music education that they deserve. But The People’s Music School is dedicated to far more than music education – their real goal is to transform the lives of their students by teaching them to be critical-thinkers, problem-solvers, and active citizens. Over 90% of the young musicians they serve are students of color, and their work has led to a 100% high school graduation and subsequent college attendance rate.

Musicality

Musicality was formed as an after-school singing group by a high school music teacher who was inspired by the enthusiasm that he saw in his students. It is their incredible passion and talent that led them to become the Semi-Finalists on America’s Got Talent in 2016. The following year, the group won the Young Entertainer’s Award Scholarship. Musicality has recently become a city-wide ensemble, open to students from ages 14 to 20.
