Leslie Grimm is one of Chicago's most prominent freelance clarinetists and has performed with the area's most distinguished ensembles, including the St. Louis, Chicago, Milwaukee, and Grant Park Symphonies, as well as the Lyric Opera of Chicago, the Music of the Baroque, the Chicago Philharmonic, and the Chicago Sinfonietta.
She has frequently appeared with the Joffrey Ballet and the American Ballet Theater. She has actively worked in the commercial recording industry for such corporations as McDonald’s, United, Anheuser Busch, Allstate, Arthur Anderson, and Kellogg Company. Ms. Grimm has recorded on the Teldec, Koss, Centaur, Fanfare, and Pro-Arte labels.
Ms. Grimm currently teaches clarinet and chamber music at Northwestern University. Before starting at Northwestern in 1997, she taught at Northern Illinois University and the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater.
