BRIDGE

An initiative to provide active experiences spiraling from Chicago Sinfonietta’s thematic concert programming. BRIDGE was established to break social, racial, and economic barriers within the symphonic experience and to bridge audience members with the surrounding community.

BRIDGE creates a Sinfonietta community beyond a simple concert performance by providing engaging activities and thought provoking substance for both seasoned classical concert goers and first timers alike. Pre-concert and during intermission of every Sinfonietta performance, BRIDGE offers guests something new to take away – whether a concept, insight, resource, or physical object. These shared experiences inside and outside the concert hall have created a familial environment beyond what a traditional performance is capable of embodying.

2015/2016 Season

The 2016-2017 season will be no exception, delivering unparalleled performances that demolish perceived and real entry barriers for a non-traditional audience. With Season 29: Chromatic, CS gives equal weight to a variety of voices and paints with shades, hues, and nuances of identity, expressed through the universal language of music. The target goal is to reach an average of 400-500 audience members at Wentz Concert Hall and 600-700 at Symphony Center for each performance.
In the 2015-16 Season, CS successfully presented a season of symphonic experiences that burst at the seams with daring interpretations of classical music, unconventional collaborations, and relentless spirit of creative endeavors for an indefinable concert experience. Now trained to expect more than just a performance, audience participation in the engagement activities increased. An estimated average of 500 guests participated in activities at each Symphony Center performance and 300 at each Naperville performance.
