Caitlin Edwards

Caitlin Edwards began studying the violin at the age of eight, through the Music Opportunity Program, a non-profit organization in Birmingham Alabama. Caitlin was accepted into The Alabama School of Fine Arts in 2007. Edwards was chosen to participate in the Alabama All-State Orchestra festival for 6 consecutive years and won a number of competitions.

Edwards has performed with Dove award winning Gospel artist Babbie Mason, and also performed and recorded with Grammy award winning artist Israel Houghton and Darlene Zschech. Edwards attended the University of Louisville where she studied with J. Patrick Rafferty. In 2015, she was the state winner of the Strings Division MTNA Young Artists Competition. In 2016, Edwards won a Project Inclusion Fellowship with the Grant Park Music Festival and also won the Concerto Competition at the University of Louisville School of Music. Caitlin is currently a graduate student at the DePaul University School of Music and is a fellow with the Chicago Sinfonietta Project Inclusion Ensemble. Caitlin currently plays a Neapolitan violin, labeled “Joseph Gagliano Filius – fecit Neap. 1760” generously on loan from the Maestro Foundation.
