Join us for an extraordinary two-part fundraising event hosted by the Chicago Sinfonietta. Chicago historian Shermann 'Dilla' Thomas joins us for this extraordinary concert and fundraising event!

Part One: Chicago Sinfonietta Concert, "Love Letters"

Celebrate Women’s History Month with a compelling women-forward symphonic performance at the historic Auditorium Theatre. The concert will feature the remarkable bassoonist Monica Ellis and a dynamic program, including:

Michelle Isaac                     Moshe’s Dream (a CS commission) 
Valerie Coleman                Opus Serena: Concertino for Bassoon and Orchestra featuring Monica Ellis, bassoon (Chicago premiere)
Johannes Brahms            "Poco Allegretto" from Symphony No. 3
Gustav Mahler                    "Adagietto" from Symphony No. 5
Felix Mendelssohn            Symphony No. 3 ("Scottish"); movements I (Introduction), II, and IV

Part Two: The Reception

After the concert, continue the celebration with an elegant reception (location TBD). Mix and mingle with our special guests, including Dilla, Maestra Mei-Ann Chen, and Blake-Anthony Johnson along with our guest artist Monica Ellis.
